It applies to information collected through our website at language.services and through any contact, scheduling, or service interactions with us.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to respond to your inquiries, schedule services, and provide language support. This includes:

• Contact information you provide through our contact form or scheduling pages, such as your name, email address, phone number, and the service you are inquiring about.
• Booking information when you schedule an appointment, including appointment type, language preferences, and any details you share about your event, project, or learning goals.
• Communications exchanged with us by email, phone, video call, text message, or other channels.
• Service-related information needed to perform the work you have hired us for, such as documents you ask us to translate or edit, event details for interpretation, or student information for homeschool support.
• Technical information automatically collected when you visit our website, such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This is standard web traffic information.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. For homeschool services involving minors, the enrolling parent or guardian is responsible for providing student information and consents on the child's behalf.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and provide the services you have requested.
• Schedule, confirm, and follow up on appointments.
• Send service confirmations, reminders, invoices, and other transactional communications.
• Match you with appropriate subcontractors when a project requires a language or specialty we deliver through our trusted partner network.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for targeted advertising or share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Service Providers We Use

To operate our business, we rely on a small number of trusted third-party services. Each of these providers receives only the information they need to perform their function, and each is bound by their own privacy practices:

• Formspree handles contact form submissions and delivers them to our business email.
• Google Workspace provides our business email and calendar. When you book an appointment, your name, email, and any details you provide are stored in Google Calendar.
• GitHub Pages hosts our website. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) are collected.
• Subcontractors in our trusted partner network may receive project-relevant information when we need to coordinate a Portuguese, ASL, or other specialty service for you. Subcontractors agree to handle your information confidentially.

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

5. How Long We Keep Information

We retain your information only as long as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Inquiry-only communications are typically retained for up to two years. Active client records, contracts, and invoices are retained as needed for tax, legal, and business purposes.

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include:

• The right to know what personal information we have collected about you.
• The right to request correction of inaccurate information.

Our website uses HTTPS encryption, and we use trusted providers (Google Workspace, Formspree, GitHub Pages) for storage and processing. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses minimal browser storage to remember your language preference (English or Spanish) between visits. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral tracking. We do not currently use analytics tools that track individual users.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated by email if you have an active service relationship with us.
